Central University: Offering Knowledge and Programs to Train a New Generation of Leaders

On January 12th, Maharishi announced the establishment of Central University, a new university in the Brahmasthan (geographical center) of the United States, in Kansas. The twofold purpose of Central University is to create world peace, through the collective practice of 10,000 Yogic Flyers, and to be a center for training a new generation of leaders through the programs of Maharishi’s Supreme Political Science (see below). The university is expected to be functioning by Guru Purnima, in July of this year.

There has perhaps never been an organization with such a profound and all-encompassing scope of activity, for Central University will not only provide the means for changing the trends of time from negativity to positivity, but it will also immediately fill the need for new knowledge to guide every area of life.

Maharishi has often pointed out that as the trends of life continue to change, the old principles that have guided societies’ activities for so many generations will fade away, and new principles will emerge to guide every aspect of individual and collective life. For this reason, as coherence grows in collective consciousness, through the coherence-creating programs of the Yogic Flyers and Vedic Pandits in Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, and the students, faculty, and staff of Central University in the Brahmasthan, the need will arise for leaders with the ability to apply the new principles. Central University will fulfill that need by creating true leaders, with a profound level of experience and the ability to bring the Vedic principles of life and living to every area of society.

Donation and Investment Opportunities Announced
to Fund One Campus for Each State in the U.S.

One of the unique features of Central University is that it will include 50 separate campuses, corresponding to the 50 states of the US. In this way, the top students from each state will live and study with other students from their home state, and then return with the necessary skills to bring the most up-to-date knowledge to their communities.

Construction costs for each of the 50 campuses are estimated at approximately US$10 million, with overall construction of the entire campus costing about one-half billion US$. To provide sufficient funds for beginning the university, we are looking to raise US$3 million in each state, which will provide the necessary capital for opening the university in just a few months.

To fund this immensely significant undertaking, we are actively seeking donations and providing investment opportunities for those who would like to receive an 8% return on investment. In the New England Domain we are establishing state-wide committees, which will continue considering different ways to finance their campus of Central University through donations, grants, scholarships and the variety of funding sources often available to educational institutions and organizations dedicated to creating world peace. Basic Themes of Central University

Supreme Political Science: The students at Central University will study the most advanced scientific understanding of health, agriculture, education, etc., with a special emphasis on administration and leadership. The principles and programs of Maharishi’s Supreme Political Science, at the core of the curriculum, are designed to enable every society to live fully in accord with Natural Law—fully in accord with Nature’s design—so that progress is always unrestricted and no individual or society ever harms another.

By adopting an administration in accord with Natural Law, a nation will spontaneously become free of problems, its government functioning on par with Nature’s administration. Such a government is naturally prevention-oriented and problem-free, never relying on coercion or fear of punishment. This is the supreme level of governmental functioning, and only a government operating on this level is worthy of the name “government”.

Peace-Creating Influence: Central University will be a powerful generator of peace and invincibility for the nation and the world, through the collective practice of the technologies of Maharishi Vedic Science. 10,000 experts will create an influence that will permanently eliminate war and terrorism throughout the world.

Vedic Education To Develop the Total Brain: The consciousness-based educational programs underlying all of Maharishi’s educational institutions have been scientifically proven to unfold the development of the total brain, through the regular experience of the unified field of consciousness. It will be a beautifully designed campus of stately marble buildings, each designed and constructed according to the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda—Vedic Architecture, which designs homes and offices that create an influence of peace, prosperity, and good health.

Each State to Have its Own Campus: Each of the 50 states in the US will be represented by its own campus of 200 students, with its own eating, living, recreational, and instructional facilities. Every one of these 50 campuses will contribute its own unique flavor to the integrated atmosphere of the entire university.

Every state will also send representatives to take part in parliaments, and learn the state of the art principles of ideal, prevention-oriented government.

The top 20 students from the 200 countries of the world will come to Central University for its state of the art leadership training, and will be housed in stately embassy like buildings.

Parliaments of Peace: Top representatives of every country will come to Central University to convene in parliaments of world peace. Central University will be a capital of administration for the entire world.

Quality of Life: Every aspect of Central University is designed to create the highest quality of student life. Students will enjoy Maharishi Vedic organic food, they will live in buildings constructed in accordance with Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, and every student will practice the Transcendental Meditation technique. All of the advanced programs of Maharishi Vedic Science will also be available at the university.

Block System for Optimal Learning: Students will take one course at a time, for ease and thoroughness of learning.

Affiliated High School: Accompanying Central University will be a high school for the most promising students from around the country, founded on consciousness-based educational principles.
